Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel against enemies, evils and dangers

Michael ("who is like God?", Hebrew: מִיכָאֵל (pronounced [mixaˈʔel]), He is an archangel in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Roman Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, Anglicans and Lutherans refer to him as "Saint Michael the Archangel" and also as "Saint Michael". Orthodox Christians refer to him as "Archangel Michael Taxiarch" or simply "Archangel Michael."

Michael is mentioned three times in the Book of Daniel, but mostly with the following passage:

«At that time Michael will rise, the great prince who protects your people. There will be a time of anguish such as has not happened since the beginning of nations until then... But at that time your people -everyone whose name is found written in the book- will be released. Multitudes that sleep in the dust of the earth will wake up: some to eternal life, others to eternal shame and contempt. The wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to justice, like the stars for ever and ever."

Daniel 12

Saint Michael pray for us

Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel against enemies, evils and dangers

Shortened version of the sentence:

San Miguel Arcangel,

defend us in battle.

Be our defense against evil and the snares of the Devil.

May God rebuke him, we humbly ask you,

and do it yourself

O Prince of the heavenly hosts,

by the power of God,

throw Satan into hell,

and to all evil spirits,

that roam the world

seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Original prayer to Saint Michael

NOTE: The following Prayer to Saint Michael is the original version as written by Pope Leo XIII. It is taken from the Raccolta, twelfth edition, published by Burnes, Oates & Washbourne Ltd, publishers of the Holy See, London, 1935. It was originally published in the Roman Raccolta of July 23, 1898, and in a supplement approved on July 31 from 1902:

O Glorious Archangel Saint Michael, Prince of the heavenly hosts, be our defense in the terrible war that we carry out against principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness and the spirits of evil.

Come to the aid of man, whom God created immortal, made in his image and likeness, and redeemed at great cost from the tyranny of the devil. Fight today the battle of the Lord, together with the holy angels, as you have already fought the chief of the proud angels, Lucifer, and his apostate host, who were powerless to resist you, nor was there any longer a place for them in heaven. That cruel, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil or Satan, who seduces the whole world, was thrown into the abyss with his angels.

Behold, this primeval enemy and murderer of men has come to life. Transformed into an angel of light, he wanders with all the multitude of evil spirits, invading the earth to erase the name of God and of his Christ, to seize, kill and cast into eternal perdition the souls destined for the crown of eternal glory. . This evil dragon pours, like an impure torrent, the poison of his malice upon men; his depraved mind, his corrupt heart, his lying spirit, impiety, blasphemy, his stinking breath of impurity and of all vice and iniquity. These most cunning enemies have filled and intoxicated the Church, the Bride of the Immaculate Lamb, with gall and bitterness, and have placed impious hands on her most sacred possessions. In the same Holy Place, where the Seat of the most holy Peter and the Chair of Truth for the light of the world have been erected, they have raised the throne of their abominable impiety, with the iniquitous design that when the Pastor has been beaten, the sheep scatter.

Arise then, O invincible Prince, bring help against the attacks of the lost spirits to the people of God, and give them victory. They revere you as his protector and patron; in You the Holy Church glories as her defense against the malicious power of hell; to

To You God has entrusted the souls of men so that they may establish themselves in heavenly beatitude. Oh, pray to the God of peace to put Satan under our feet, so vanquished that he can no longer hold men captive and harm the Church. He offers our prayers in the sight of the Most High, so that they may quickly reconcile the mercies of the Lord; and cast down the dragon, the old serpent that is the devil and Satan, make him captive again in the abyss, so that he can no longer seduce the nations. Amen.

V. Contemplate the Cross of the Lord; Disperse, hostile powers.

A. The Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has defeated.

V. May your mercy be with us, Lord

R. As we have hoped in You.

V. Lord, hear my prayer.

R. And let my cry reach You

LET'S PRAY

God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we invoke your holy name, and we humbly implore your clemency, so that through the intercession of Mary, ever Immaculate Virgin and our Mother, and of the glorious Archangel Saint Michael, you may deign to help us.

against Satan and all other unclean spirits, who roam the world to the detriment of mankind and the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Pope Leo XIII, 1888

Raccolta 1933 (Partial Indulgence)

Prayer for help against spiritual enemies

Glorious Saint Michael, Prince of the heavenly hosts, who is always ready to help the people of God; who fought with the dragon, the ancient serpent, and expelled him from heaven, and now bravely defends the Church of God so that the gates of hell never prevail against her, I urge you to help me too, in the painful and dangerous conflict that I sustain against the same formidable enemy.

Accompany me, oh mighty Prince, so that I can bravely fight and defeat that proud spirit, which you, by Divine Power, gloriously defeated, and which our mighty King, Jesus Christ, has completely defeated in our nature; thus, having triumphed over the enemy of my salvation, I will be able, with you and with the holy angels, to praise the clemency of God who, having denied mercy to the rebellious angels after their fall, has granted repentance and forgiveness to fallen man .

Amen.
